Dried mushrooms should be rehydrated before use to restore their texture and release their full flavor:
1. Place the mushrooms in a bowl and cover with warm or hot water.
2. Let them soak for 15–30 minutes, depending on the variety and size.
4. Once softened, gently remove the mushrooms and squeeze out any excess liquid.
4. Strain the soaking liquid through a fine sieve or cheesecloth to remove any sediment, then use it as a flavorful base for sauces, soups, or risottos.
5. After rehydrating, the mushrooms can be used just like fresh mushrooms in sautés, pasta, risotto, and other dishes.
